Getting back to nature is very important for children. It helps them to feel calm and relaxed, while exploring and developing their curiosity. Our inquisitive and enthusiastic children and educators participated in National Tree Day at the end of July.
National Tree Day was an opportunity for us as an educational service to teach children to positively contribute to the wider community and the environment by connecting with nature. Kool Kidz Rowville Childcare and Kindergarten hosted 4 friendly firefighters from the local CFA station, who also brought their fire truck along for the children to enjoy. They discussed fire safety, how their uniforms protect them and what to do in an emergency inside and then invited our children outdoors to have a closer look at the fire truck. Read more »
We were lucky enough to host a recent visit from a local dentist and her assistant who came to chat to our children about healthy eating and looking after your teeth.
Our Dragonfly educators took this opportunity to extend on this learning through some interesting science experiments that took place over a couple of days. Read more »
Our kindergarten children had a visit from Anchali, a dentist and Simone a dental nurse both from Australian Unity Dental Clinic Rowville. Anchali and Simone spoke about dental hygiene and showed the children the best way to clean their teeth using our big teeth model. Our children were delighted to receive a star and a bag with a toothbrush, toothbrush case, toothpaste, dental floss and some brochures. We look forward to their return visit when they will talk to some of our younger children about dental awareness. Read more »

Our enthusiastic children were keen to explore with finger paint. On went the smocks in record time and their eager hands slid into the soft and slimy shaving cream. After a few giggles and plenty of smiles our children suggested adding colour to the sensory mixture. This made the experience even more enriching as they experimented mixing in the colour and watching the many changing forms of the slippery shaving cream. Read more »
