Our vege garden is a wonderful tool for our children to demonstrate an increasing knowledge of and respect for their natural environment. Today our keen gardeners decided to investigate how the herbs and vege plants were growing and they noted that some of the leaves were brown. Our children reasoned with each other why some were brown and some were green exploring possibilities between too much sun, not enough water and at one stage even the spiders and snails were blamed.
Our busy gardeners set to work pulling out anything brown they could find and gave the garden a good water. Just when you think our story is finished, our children amazed us even further with some very clever thinking when cleaning up and took the garden rubbish to the worm farm. What a valuable learning experience this was, exploring, problem solving, sustainability and fun all in one.
