On the 23rd of March, Jehanna and Lynne from Daley Nutrition visited us in the Kinder room for World Oral Health Day to talk about food and teeth. They spoke about the different food groups and what we should be eating moderately and only sometimes. Most of the sometimes food contain a lot of sugar. This is bad for our teeth because the bacteria feeds on sugars from our food and drinks producing acids that eat through the enamel (protective layer) on your teeth.
Not only can eating too much sometimes food be bad for our teeth, it can hurt our tummies too. We were taught a new song about brushing our teeth twice a day and were encouraged to see the dentist for a check-up at least twice a year. Jehanna showed us how easy it is to create a banana smoothie which is very good for the development of our bones and teeth but also very delicious too! Lynne showed us how to brush our teeth properly using fake teeth and how fun brushing can be.
