Docklands Spooktacular Halloween Celebrations

Trick or Treat! The Honeybee’s room at Kool Kidz Docklands have been busy with their Halloween preparations and have really been getting in to the spirit of this spooky occasion.

Our room has been decorated with works of art the children had created. We made some broom sticks, ghosts, pumpkins, bats, cats and bones. Our room was also decorated with electronic Halloween candles, paintings on the windows, lots of spider webs and pictures of children participating in our activities, dress ups and black cat face paintings.

To celebrate this event, we had a spooky dress up day, children and educators dressed up as witches, spiders, pumpkins, ghosts, dragons and bats, even our resident soft toys dressed up! Children enjoyed some special Halloween activities, during outside play children used pumpkin pales in the sand, children participated in a fun sensory messy play experience inside with tissue paper and balloons. We created a witch’s hat collage and we also drew on some orange paper with black drawing mediums.Halloween Celebrations

At afternoon tea, we enjoyed some whole meal spooky sandwiches and orange rice and fish for lunch! It was a spooky but fun day!

In the week leading up to Halloween, the Kindergarten children took part in helping their educators transform their room into a spooky house. They crafted ghosts, jack-o-lanterns, witches, spiders, mummies and bats and enjoyed Halloween themed sensory experiences involving green slime with eyeballs, playdoh, clay and coloured rice. They especially loved dressing up for our special Halloween celebration and taking photos at the Halloween photo booth.

We hope everyone had a spooktacular Halloween!
