Childcare subsidies to increase from 7 July 2025
Families will be pleased to know that from 7 July 2025, most families using a Kool Kidz childcare service will see their out-of-pocket childcare costs reduce.
- The maximum Childcare Subsidy remains at 90%.
- Families earning $85,279 or less will receive a 90% subsidy.
- Families earning more than $85,279 and less than $535,279 will receive a subsidy that tapers down from 90%, decreasing by 1% for every $5,000 of additional income.
- Families earning $535,279 or more will receive 0% subsidy.
- Families with more than one child aged 5 or under in care can still receive a higher subsidy (up to 95%) for their second and younger children.
- The hourly cap for Centre-Based Day Care is increasing to $14.63 per hour, which is the maximum amount the Government will subsidise per hour.
