Easter celebrations at Kool Kidz Ravenhall kicked off last week with a visit from the Easter Bunny!
During the week we had been having conversations in our rooms about Easter and what it meant for each child and their family. We shared picture books at group time and created egg art, and learned that the thing the children were most excited for was the Easter eggs. From this we chose to build on their excitement by holding our own whole centre Egg Hunt! The children excitedly prepared by making and decorating their own baskets with the educators in their rooms.
On Thursday morning the children watched with wonder as the Easter bunny hopped around our garden hiding the Easter eggs for them to find. We were so happy to be joined by the families of the children for this special occasion. Together with their families the children collected eggs and put them in the baskets they had made during the week, and even got to meet the Easter Bunny! It was lovely to see the children cooperating and sharing their found eggs with one another, sharing their excitement and wonder at their discoveries.
Our Easter egg hunt links to our Kool Beginnings Curriculum area ‘Let’s Pretend’ as it helps to foster young imaginations This experience also links to EYLF Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners. During this whole process the children were developing dispositions for learning such as curiosity, cooperation, imagination, enthusiasm, commitment, creativity and persistence. We hope everyone had a safe and fun Easter long weekend, and look forward to hearing about your adventures from the long weekend!
