Kool Kidz Ravenhall’s Tool Box Meeting & Father’s Afternoon BBQ
Wow! We were delighted with the success of our very first Tool Box Meeting & Father’s Afternoon BBQ.
It was such a beautiful day and it was even more beautiful to see Kool Kidz Ravenhall come together with our families and build on our sense of community. Our educators set the environment with small play spaces that catered for the young and the young at heart. Parents along with Grandparents climbed, slid down slides, roared like dinosaurs and even shared a book with the children. These experiences have such a positive impact on our children, families and educators, they help build relationships between staff and families, it offers an opportunity for children to share their environment with their special family and encourages children to build on their sense of belonging, being and becoming.
But what really tied the afternoon together was our PROJECT TEE-PEE. It began with an idea…
Kool Kidz Ravenhall endeavours to build a sense of family/belonging in its service, so what better way to begin this journey with asking one of our Dads to help with a vision. The child’s Dad is a carpenter and was more than happy to offer his helping hand with PROJECT TEE-PEE.
With measurements complete, a trip to Bunnings, a weekend hammering and picking up old fence palings (recycling materials where we can), we had a tee-pee on wheels.
Our resident “chippy” had purposely left the top of the tee-pee detached and the decking temporarily nailed in – it was all part of the bigger picture.
Fast forward to our afternoon BBQ, we had a project that still needed the help of all Dads; so we got them to work and in no time we announced: “TOOLS DOWN”. It was such a beautiful day, everyone was happy, families and staff mingled and families mingled with families. We got in some awesome group shots before the sun went down.
We cannot thank everyone who attended and made this special afternoon even more special. Kool Kidz Ravenhall is about building a sense of family and we definitely have taken 10 steps closer to achieving this.
