To celebrate Reconciliation Week last week, we read some Dreamtime stories; one of them being “The Rainbow Serpent”.
The story is about Goorialla, the rainbow serpent who came from beneath the ground and created huge ridges, mountains and gorges as it roamed the country looking for its people.
The children were really interested in Goorialla so we decided to do a group art project in which we would all work together to paint a HUGE rainbow serpent!
The children took great care as they painted their part of the snake, choosing their colours thoughtfully. Some made different patterns whilst others just focused on making sure their whole section was filled with paint.
