National Tree Day and Schools Tree Day combine to make Australia’s largest community tree planting and nature care event.
National Tree Day aims to inspire, educate and recruit Australians to actively care for our unique land and create future generations of committed environmental custodians. Research demonstrates the benefits of interaction with nature for children’s health, wellbeing and development. The Snugglepots participated in National Tree Day by doing a hand print experience on a tree that the educators painted. The children enjoyed doing this activity outdoors as the sun shined this morning! During this experience the children used their fine motor skills as well as their sensory skills to dip their hand into the paint and put their hand print on the tree. The Snugglepots love showing their support for the environment!
