National Fairy Bread Day

On Thursday the 24th of November the children in Butterflies and Kinder participated in making fairy bread to celebrate National Fairy bread day. All children got a buttered piece of bread and dipped their bread in a plate of hundreds and thousands and ate it up!

Cooking experience helps children to:

  • Explore basic maths skills such as measuring and weight
  • Explore different foods
  • Explore through their senses
  • Become more confident in their social interactions
  • Learn to follow steps from a recipe
  • Have the confidence to question and use thinking strategies such as hypothesising
  • Introduce new words to their vocabulary
  • Gain a sense of accomplishment
