This week we started our library excursions; this will continue weekly with a small group of children walking to the library to participate in Preschool Storytime.
Our excursion started with a walk, which led to discussions about litter and dog poo on the side of the footpath. Conversations such as why there is litter and how it is not good for our environment increases the children’s awareness of how we can look after it. After our walk from Kool Kidz Mill Park along Plenty Road, the children reached the library and quietly sat down with the other children, participating in pirate themed movement songs, games and activities, such as Ocean Motion (Hokey Pokey), musical freeze and making pirate masks. Before leaving the library, Stacie shared two books with the children.
We were extremely lucky with the weather being kind to us on this day, waiting until we had safely returned to Kool Kidz before hailing. We are looking forward to our next excursion!
