On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday we had Sensei Brad, Brayden and Blake from M.A.C.E Academy come out to teach the Caterpillar, Butterflies and Kinder children some martial arts / karate.
The children were taught some self-defence moves including how to safely do a karate kick, yell “back off” in the case of an unwanted stranger approaching them and how to break free from an unwanted arm hold. Sensei Brad teaches some important life skills including a child’s confidence. He also teaches martial arts/karate to assist with discipline, respect and focus, as well as inner security, patience, fitness/coordination and loyalty to one’s self and family.
The children all had a lot of fun and enjoyed having Sensei Brad, Brayden and Blake come to Kool Kidz.
There are a number of benefits of martial arts / karate for children:
- learn self-defence
- keep children active
- help teach children to stay focused
- teach children self-confidence and self-respect
