The children in the kinder room decided to make a rocket out of unused boxes that they had in the room. They all began painting and then working out how to construct the rocket so that it didn’t fall. One of the children used the word ‘foundation’ which meant that the rocket needed to be sturdy.
They also came up with the idea to make a ‘point’ at the top. All the children involved then added their name to the section of the rocket that they designed. It was not only an activity instigated by the children, but took into effect mathematical concepts and imagination and a lot of fun. This project took about a week to complete.
